Thursday, April 6 --- Branson

After our visit to the Botanical Garden in St. Louis, we stopped for a quick lunch with hipster toast at Fiddlehead Fern Cafe.  So yummm!  Wish we had found that place sooner.  Then we were on the road to Branson.

We had to make a quick pit stop in the town of Uranus ... I'm not kidding.  This fudge factory did not disappoint.  The fudge was fabulous, but we could have done with less of the corny jokes.  Ha!

We got into Branson a bit later than we hoped.  We quickly stopped by our Airbnb to unpack the car.  Brian's only request for our stay was it needed a water view.  It was a bit of a ways from the main town (maybe 10-15 minutes), but well worth it.

This is a river (or maybe a lake) view from the back of the apartment.  So peaceful.

We grabbed a quick bite then went to the Sight and Sound theatre to see the show "Queen Esther".

Statue of the Lamb and the Lion outside the theatre

The theatre is HUGE!  They only put on Christian plays and they do it in a BIG way.  Live animals on stage.  For Esther, it was horses.  The sets were amazing.  Three big stages that are setup all around the audience.  The singing was beautiful and the story straight from the scriptures.  And at the end there was no curtain call or applause for the actors.  All praise for the actors' work was to be to God.  Very humble.

You can see part of the stage behind us.
(We lost some photos from this portion of our trip in the technical difficulties we were having)

There was a bit of drama with this event.  I reserved our seats weeks before the trip.  We got to the theatre a bit early because I forgot to print the tickets and thought there would be a hassle.  They were super good about that.  Then we found our seats and relaxed doing some people watching.  THEN ... some ladies were finding their seats and they had the same seat numbers we had.  Turns out our reservations were actually for the following night ... when we'd be in the next town.  My heart dropped.  I figured I had wasted all that money.  But the usher just told us to find any empty seats and enjoy the show.  That's kindness!!!  I was so grateful for that little mercy.
